Getting Started

  1. Setup your security system to send your motion alert emails to the email address shown at
  2. Confirm that is receiving your motion alerts emails by viewing the motion alerts at
  3. Setup your labels you wish to use at
  4. Label your motion alerts at to teach how to recognize your labels (shown as gray tags under the motion alerts)
  5. After you have several dozen motion alerts labeled, train (use Train button at
  6. After training is complete, will start predicting labels for new motion alerts (shown as blue tags under the motion alerts)
  7. After predicts your labels accurately, setup your contacts and your alert rules at to receive important motion alerts

Tip: It takes time to get good results using  The more motion alert images you label the better the predictions will be from

Acquiring Motion Alerts

How do my motion alerts get into

You must setup your existing security camera or wildlife camera to email motion alerts to the email address shown at

How quickly should my motion alerts show up in will instantly show any received motion alerts without requiring a page refresh at

If your motion alerts are not being shown, contact for assistance.

Can I send motion alerts from multiple cameras to

Yes, you can send alerts from multiple cameras and will learn to recognize your labels across all your cameras.

What happens to emails sent without any images?

Many security systems will send notification emails of errors (like low disk space). These emails normally do not contain any motion alert images.

If you have setup a Default Forward Email in, emails received by without any images will be forwarded to this Default Forward Email; otherwise, these emails will be discarded.

Where can I setup my labels?

You can setup your labels at

What is the difference between the gray, blue, and pink labels on my motion alerts?

There are three types of labels…

  • Actual (Gray) – These are labels provided by you to teach about your motion alerts
  • Predicted (Blue) – These are the predicted labels for your motion alerts
  • Alerts (Pink) – These are predictions that met your Alert Rules to notify you of something important
Why do I have to provide Actual Labels of my motion alerts?

You have to provide enough Actual Labels of your motion alerts so can learn about your motion alerts.

After has learned to predict your motion alerts well, continuing to provide Actual Labels is optional.

Can I set the Actual Labels on multiple motion alerts at once?

Yes, select as many motion alerts as you wish and use the bottom action bar to specify the Actual Labels desired for all the selected motion alerts.

How do I train on my motion alerts?

After you have added Actual Labels to a sufficient number of your motion alert, select Train Now from the Training button above your motion alerts.

How long does training take?

Training can take up to an hour depending on how many other users are training at the same time.

Which motion alerts are used for training? will only use the motion alerts with Actual Labels (grey labels) for training.

How does training work?

Although you might use labels like Vehicle, Person, etc, doesn’t really know what a Vehicle or Person looks like.  Instead, is really just trying to determine what must and must not be in a motion alert to match a specific label.

So, if has only been trained to predict a Vehicle label with motion alerts where green grass is in the background, may not predict the Vehicle label correctly when snow is covering the grass because it improperly assumed there must be green grass in the background to be the Vehicle label.

This problem tends to go away over time as you train with a more diverse set of motion alerts for each label (like examples of a Vehicle with green grass in background and examples of a Vehicle with snow in background).

How long does it take to create the Predicted Labels? normally creates the Predicted Labels within 15 to 60 seconds after receive a new motion alert.

Alert Rules

Where can I setup my alert rules?

You can setup your Alert Rules at

Sample Alert Rule

If triggered, an “Unknown Person” email will be sent to Amy

If triggered, an “Unknown Person” text will be sent to Mark

Will be triggered if a Person label is detected that isn’t Amy nor Mark

Will be suppressed until 2 matches in a minute

Will continue to be suppressed until 5 minutes without being triggered

Sample Alert Rule

Can I use from a web browser?

Yes, just open

Is there an Android app?

Yes, see in Google Play here.

Is there an iOS app?

Not exactly but you can create a shortcut that behaves identically to an iOS app by…

  1. Opening in Safari on your iOS device
  2. Click the Share button in Safari (square with up arrow)
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen and then Add

You now have an app icon for Smart Alerts that will behave nearly identically to an iOS app.

What is the maximum Receive Rate?

The Receive Rate limits how many motion alert images can be sent to from your security or wildlife cameras.  Exceeding the Receive Rate will cause to discard some of your motion alert images.

The Free Plan limits the Receive Rate to 2 motion alert images every 10 minutes. The Pro Plan limits the Receive Rate to 5 motion alert images every 5 minutes.

What is the maximum Training Size?

The Training Size limits how many motion alert images will be used by to learn how to predict labels for your motion alerts.  A larger Training Size allows to analyze more of your motion alert images and makes much more accurate predicting the labels of your motion alert images.

The Free Plan limits the Training Size to 1,000 motion alert images.  The Pro Plan limits the Training Size to 10,000 motion alert images.

What is the maximum Training Frequency?

The Training Frequency limits how often can be trained on your motion alert images.  A smaller Training Frequency allows training more often.

The Free Plan limits the Training Frequency to every 10 days. The Pro Plan limits the Training Frequency to every 3 days.

What is the maximum Retention Period?

The Retention Period limits how long will store your motion alert images and notifications.  A longer Retention Period means you can access more historical motion alerts from

The Free Plan limits the Retention Period to 6 months. The Pro Plan limits the Retention Period to 24 months.

How types of notifications can I receive? can send you notifications via email or text based on alert rules you define to determine what is important enough to send you a notification.

The Free Plan limits notifications to email only. The Pro Plan allows notifications to use both email and text.
